Vocabia offers a comprehensive approach to language learning, combining reading, listening, and flashcard review. Follow this step-by-step guide to get the most out of your study sessions.

1. Explore the Library and Choose Content​

  • Head to the Library and browse through Mini-Stories, Graded Readers, and Songs.
  • Select content that matches your interest and language level.
  • You can read and listen to the audio of the selected text simultaneously.

2. Read and Listen Actively​

  • Start reading the text while listening to the accompanying audio. This helps you improve your reading comprehension and pronunciation.
  • As you read, click on any unknown word to:
    • Hear its pronunciation.
    • See its translation and usage examples.

3. Create Personalized Flashcards​

  • When you encounter a new word, click on it to open the flashcard creation modal.
  • You can:
    • Write your own sentence using the word.
    • Use our AI-generated sentence for a quick option.
  • Save the flashcard, and it will be added to your deck for future review.

4. Add Audio to Your Playlist for Listening Practice​

  • If you find the audio helpful, click the Add to Playlist button.
  • Create a new playlist or add it to an existing one (e.g., "Daily Practice").
  • Listen to the audio multiple times, aiming to understand it fully without needing to read along.

5. Review Your Flashcards with Spaced Repetition​

  • Head to the Flashcards Menu and select a deck to review.
  • Review cards using the SRS (Spaced Repetition System):
    • Choose Correct if you know the answer, or Incorrect if you don’t.
    • The system will automatically adjust the review frequency, focusing on the words you find most challenging.

6. Repeat and Progress​

  • Once you fully understand the audio and content, move on to a new text in the Library.
  • Continue reading, listening, and creating flashcards to expand your vocabulary and comprehension.
